A great night for our first supperclub in August, our 11 lovely guests helped with first night nerves. No disasters in the kitchen, clean plates and lots of chat and craic - thanks folks!

Sesame and parmesan rolls with garlic and chilli oil
Courgette fritters served with summer salad and zhoug
Aubergine gamelastra with a roasted pepper sauce OR
Homemade raspberry ripple ice-cream, fresh raspberries and shortbread biscuits
Tea and coffee
Preparations well under way for Saturday night and menu finalised!
On a walk up the Cavehill with the mutt - late summer raspberries hanging like jewels. Sweet and tart, a world away from supermarket offerings. I could bring them home and make something of them but there are too few and so I happily eat. And there are the promise of blackberries, looks like a good crop.
And much and all as I love sloe gin, I think I might try a blackberry liqueur this year.
